Verner B. Harper
" My work is rooted in passion and emotional release. My palette is limited in color, relying heavily on dark and light, varying in shades to express my emotions to the viewer. My hope is to bring the viewer into the piece and share feelings that I haven't the words to convey. Since 1977, I've worked in Advertising layout and specialized in Visual Merchandising. Although this work has parallels with my Art, it has limitations in expression which I find I can more fully communicate through the medium of painting. I have just recently begun painting again after a twenty year pause, and I have no plans to leave it, now that I am able to devote more of my time to my works."
